What’s your sign?
If you've ever been asked about your "sign," you probably answered with your Sun sign, even if you didn't know it was your sun sign—aka the one tied to your birthday. It’s the zodiac sign everyone knows, whether or not they believe in astrology. The one that shows up in horoscopes, memes, and that cliché pick-up line that I'm pretty sure nobody actually uses.
Blame 20th-century newspapers. Daily horoscopes had to be simple, and the Sun sign was the easiest piece to work with. One sign to rule them all.
And to be fair, your Sun sign does matter. It speaks to your identity, your energy, your general vibe. But it’s just one part of the picture.
Say you’re a Leo Sun—big, bold, glow-in-the-dark energy.
But what if that Leo Sun is hiding out in the 12th house? Or tangled up with Saturn? Or your Moon is in Capricorn giving emotionally distant workaholic? Suddenly, the vibe shifts.
Because your chart? It’s a whole cosmic ecosystem.
When you were born, the sky was doing a lot.
The Sun was in one zodiac sign—but so was the Moon. And Mercury. And Venus. And Mars. Each planet was somewhere. Each one in its own sign, in its own house, shaping a different part of you.
So yeah, I’m an Aries.
But that’s kind of like saying “I like black coffee” and expecting you to know everything about me.
If your Sun sign has never told the full story, that’s because it doesn’t.
“What’s your sign?” is the wrong question.
Because you’re not a sign.
You’re lots of them.
We all are.
